Completing the Puzzle - Administrators' Plan for Alignment for Grades K-12
Description: This workshop assists administrators in considering every component of a district and school's Common Core alignment plan. Participants will explore their school or district plan for professional development and curriculum alignment, while evaluating needs in technology, instruction, and assessment. Finally, participants will examine methods to communicate and evaluate the developed plan. Suggested alignment plans will be distributed to assist participants in completing their own "early stage" plans before the conclusion of the workshop.
Workshop Length: 2 to 3 Hours
Intended Audience: Grades K-12 Curriculum Specialists and Administrators
Examining the Relationship of Teacher Supervision and the Common Core
Description: One of the most significant changes related to Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction is the clear expectation that school leaders are familiar with the impact of the Common Core State Grade Level Standards on curriculum and in turn the implementation of critical instructional strategies which result in a shift of teacher and student behaviors. During this workshop, participants will explore broad Common Core "look for" in Reading and Mathematics, and consider best methods of collecting evidence during classroom observations or walk-through protocols.
Workshop Length: 2 to 3 Hours
